Our schools have year-round opportunities for parents to visit, learn, or volunteer but no special occasion is necessary. Contact your child's teacher or the school principal if you have any questions or concerns.

Parent University 2011: BLAST for Parents
As part of its Parent University offerings, Charlottesville City Schools is holding a series informational sessions for parents about BLAST (Blended Learning to Advance Student Thinking) -- the new computer initiative that gives every student in grades 6-12 a computer tablet to work with.
Only CHS students will be taking their computers home. Parents with Charlottesville High School students are required to attend one session to sign for the school-issued computer tablets that CHS students will receive.
Sessions are optional for Walker Upper Elementary and Buford Middle School parents.
Sessions will last one hour.
Sessions for Parents of Students in Grades 6-8
- October 11, 6 p.m. at Walker Upper Elementary School
- November 9, 6 p.m. at Buford Middle School
NOTE: Upper elementary and middle school parents may attend this optional session at either school
Sessions for Parents of Students in Grades 9-12
- September 15, 7 p.m. at CHS
- September 22, 7 p.m. at CHS
- September 29, 7 p.m. at CHS
NOTE: A parent is REQUIRED to attend one session.
