CHS Symphony and Chorus Perform February 1

The Charlottesville High School Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will present their annual concert on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Performing Arts Center at CHS.  The CHS Symphony Orchestra is created for one concert performance per year by combining the 52-member CHS String Ensemble with the top 25 musicians from the CHS Wind Ensemble.  This year's performance will feature Gliere's "Russian Sailor's Dance", music from "Harry Potter" and "The Lord of the Rings", and choral masterworks "The Heavens are Telling" by Haydn and "Lacrimosa" by Mozart.

The Choirs of CHS will be joined by singers from Albemarle High School and the Charlottesville City Schools' Staff Chorus.  Visual art will be displayed and a scene from the upcoming CHS Theater event, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" will be performed at the concert.  The performance is free and open to the public.
